We all love seafood, but sometimes it is nice to have another option in a seafood laden town. The Prosser family took notice of the large amount of seafood restaurants in Murrells Inlet and decided to pack up their shop from Hemingway, SC and move to Murrells Inlet to provide locals and visitors with true Southern style bar-b-que.
While there are different Southern dish options available on Prosser’s menu, most people line up for their area-famous buffet. This buffet features—you guessed it—Prosser’s barbecue which is made with slow smoked pork cooked over hickory coals, which is then pulled, chopped, and covered with vinegar-based barbecue sauce. Other buffet items include fried chicken, fried flounder, center cut pork chops, mac & cheese, green beans, collard greens, rice & gravy, mashed potatoes, chicken & dumplings, chicken bog, sweet potato soufflé, cobblers, banana pudding, full salad bar, seafood items, BBQ ribs, BBQ chicken, cakes, pies, and more.
The lunch and dinner buffets vary, so make sure to check if your favorite items are featured before heading over.
Of course, who eats their Southern cuisine without a refreshing glass of sweet tea to wash it down? Those who eat at Prosser’s claim that their sweet tea is the best you can find in town.
If you’re looking for an awesome meal in a relaxed atmosphere, check out Prosser’s Bar-B-Que. But make sure to get there early as this local spot tends to get quite busy throughout the year. Not only do the locals love it, but visitors to the Grand Strand are raving about Prosser’s, too. So come and get some Bar-B-Que!
