This restaurant on the main strip in Murrells Inlet is named after a man who’s picked up many nicknames over the years – Chillio, Big Papa Puff, and Bubba Love, to name a few.

Having been a popular figure in the community for many years – some refer to him as the unofficial mayor – a restaurant bearing his name was probably inevitable.

The resulting establishment is a relaxed place to grab a meal, drink, or both. And though it definitely does look like a shak, the vibes are positive and crowd is a friendly one.

The dinner menu begins with a selection of Bubbatizers that includes starters like Bonnie’s Boneless Wings, Brim’s Bacon Wrapped Shrimp with cheddar, horseradish, and bbq sauce, and Lowcountry Mussels steamed in white wine.

The Small Plates section includes creative dishes like Rockefeller Flatbread (oysters, spinach, bacon, caramelized onions, and parmesan), Brim’s Burger (a not so small 8oz patty with bacon, lettuce, tomato, onion, pickle, and Monterrey Jack), and several other Flatbread options including Margherita, Ham & Cheese, Mushroom, and Sausage.

The entrée list is presented under the name of Low Rollers, and highlights include a traditional Seafood Gumbo, Lowcountry Shrimp & Grits, Bubba’s Famous Fried Lobster, BBQ Ribs Plate, and Fried Catfish Platter.

As for atmosphere, the indoor dining area converts into an open-air space when the weather is right, which is pretty often in Murrells Inlet. There’s also dockside seating, where pastel and primary-colored picnic tables stand-out from patios at other MarshWalk eateries. The place is decorated with all manner of neo-neon signs (one reads “Love Served Daily”) and surf boards, and there’s also live music several nights a week.
