When vacationing in Pawleys Island with your family, chances are you'll spend most of the time playing in the sand and water. However, on days when you need a break from the beach, you need to have a back-up plan to keep your kids occupied. Thankfully, in addition the the beautiful beach, there are tons of kid-friendly attractions in the area!

Lowcountry Zoo at Brookgreen Gardens

Brookgreen Gardens is a beautiful place, and while families will enjoy the entire attraction, kids will definitely love the Lowcountry Zoo! The Lowcountry Zoo at Brookgreen Gardens is the only accredited zoo on the coast of the Carolinas. The zoo features animals that are native to the Lowcountry, and there are also educational signs on display so you and your kiddos can learn some cool facts about the animals you’re viewing.

The Hammock Shops Village is an outdoor shopping center that is home to a variety of shops and eateries. There is also a playground here for the little ones to have some fun between shopping. In addition, Hobcaw Barony also offers children’s programs where kids can learn how to cast a fishing net, go cane pole fishing, and go out into nature to learn about ecology.

Pirate Adventures is home to the Sea Gypsy, which is a pirate ship on which kids can sail as a crew in search of treasure!
