Carolina Opry

8901 North Kings Highway, Myrtle Beach, SC, • 800-843-6779

A cornucopia of live musical entertainment awaits visitors to the Carolina Opry. The venue’s namesake show has been running for more than 30 years, thrilling audiences and winning critical acclaim. The dazzling show, blending up-tempo music and dance, has been named Myrtle Beach’s top attraction by CNBC and has won the coveted Governor’s Cup tourism award.

The brainchild of Calvin Gilmore, once an aspiring singer/songwriter, the Opry grew from a small theater in Surfside Beach in 1986 to its present-day, 2,200-seat showplace home on Highway 17. The talented ensemble includes nationally renowned recording artist Brad Long, the hip-hop clogging sensations All That! from NBC’s America’s Got Talent, and powerhouse vocalists Christie Templeton, Tangena Church, and Chas Croft Sorrells. Additionally, audiences will be treated to the exceptional talents of fiddling champion Trent Wideman and bluegrass virtuoso Gary Brown.

With each new season, guests can anticipate a refreshing array of new songs, dazzling elaborate costumes, and uproarious comedy that continues to captivate even those who have experienced the show multiple times.

The theater also morphs into a winter wonderland each November and December for the down-home Carolina Opry Christmas Special.

Throughout the year, the theater also plays host to a number of special events and concerts. Show prices vary, and most live events include a pre-show. Season passes and various vacation, seasonal, and group packages are available. Tickets can be ordered online.
