Known as one of the top eateries on the Grand Strand this popular Pawleys Island restaurant is actually two restaurants in one.

There’s the more formal main dining room — known as Frank’s Inside Bistro or simply Frank’s — and the more casual, yet still exquisite outdoor patio deck and covered terrace known as Frank’s Outback.

Though the share the same property and ownership, these two dining spots have two distinct menus and each brings its own unique atmosphere to the table.

While Frank’s emphasizes its choice cuts of beef, lamb, pork and local game, Frank’s Outback is known for Lowcountry favorites like Shrimp and Grits and blackened fresh catch fish.

Luckily, if you’re in the mood for one thing and your dining companion another, the staff is very accomodating about letting guests order from either menu.

Creativity and a focus on fresh local ingredients are a common denominators between the restaurants, and both spots offer great nightly specials that are often better than anything you will find on menu.

Choices like Pan-Fried Grouper with Shrimp in Dijon and Peppercorn Cream Sauce and the Wood-Fired Pizzas are among the favorites that keep Pawleys Island visitors coming back for more.

The Atmosphere is great at both place and though Frank’s is a bit more formal in it’s setting guests are put at eas as soon as they enter through the kitchen and begin to smell the amazing aromas cooking up from within.

Though Frank’s Outback is a bit more laid-back, it still features fine white tablecloth dining in a secluded outdoor area that features a waterfall and tree lights in the giant live oak tree that provides shade with its abundance of Spanish moss. In the cooler months you can request a table close to the stone fireplace for a romantic meal and setting.

No matter which side you choose, you’re in for a treat of a dining experience at Frank’s.
