The smorgasbord of entertainment options at Broadway at the Beach is sure to please even the most finicky visitor. From dining to shopping to attractions to nightlife, if it can’t be found here, there’s a strong possibility it may not exist.

To begin your action-packed day, you’ll need a little something in your belly, so choose from a wide variety of light fare — from a yummy pretzel at Auntie Anne’s to an eye-opening espresso at Starbucks. Thus fortified, you can dive into all the attractions Broadway has to offer.

A good first choice is Ripley’s Aquarium, an aquatic wonderland packed with educational fun. Watch sharks swim above your head at Dangerous Reef as you glide underneath the 750,000-gallon shark tank, pet a stingray in Friendship Flats, or brush up on your knowledge of the sea with hourly dive shows and marine education sessions. Once you’ve had your saltwater fill, you can loosen up your muscles at Dragon’s Lair Fantasy Golf– but beware the 30-foot fire-breathing local who inhabits the medieval minigolf course. Then head to WonderWorks, where education and entertainment meet in more than 100 hands-on exhibits. Inquiring minds can pilot a fighter jet, design a 360-degree virtual roller coaster or experience 74 mph hurricane-force winds.

Whatever attraction you choose, you’re sure to work up an appetite, and you won’t have to go far to satisfy it. Every type of restaurant you can imagine can be found at Broadway at the Beach, from the music-themed Hard Rock Cafe to the burger-centric Johnny Rockets to Joe’s Crab Shack to local favorite Liberty Brewery & Grill, where a thirsty vacationer can enjoy a handcrafted ale brewed on site. (Don’t forget dessert at Cold Stone Creamery or The Fudgery).

Once you’ve stuffed yourselves and sent the kids back to the hotel, it’s time to indulge in a frozen daiquiri at Fat Tuesday, check out the dueling pianos at Crocodile Rocks, or dance the night away at Revolutions. And don’t forget to stockpile souvenirs at the Broadway T-Shirt Company, the Coastal Carolina Winery or the Build-A-Bear Workshop.
