Austin’s Ocean One
Located at the Oceanfront Litchfield Inn, this contemporary American fine-dining restaurant offers one of the most scenic upscale dining experiences in town.
Utilizing ingredients that changes with the seasons, Executive Chef Bill Austin employs his award-winning talents to create menus full of fresh seafood, hand-cut steaks, and locally-sourced produce. The kitchen also prepares all sauces, dressings, and desserts on-site to make sure guests are getting the freshest meal possible.
Add to that an unmatched dining room ambiance complete with panoramic views of the Atlantic, and it’s easy to see why Austin’s Ocean One has become a great destination for a fancy night out on the town.
The dinner menu begins with Soup and Salad offerings, which include new takes on classic items. In addition to the Seafood & Andouille Gumbo with fried oysters and Carolina rice, guests can also begin the meal with a Poached Baby Shrimp Salad (avocado, tomato, mango, creamy basil vinaigrette), Ocean One Caesar (roasted red pepper, imported parmesan, herb crouton), or the Bibb Salad with Farm Egg (crispy bacon, tomatoes, green goddess dressing).
The list of Small Plates makes for a nice selection of appetizers, but no one would second-guess a guest for making a meal out of two or three of the dishes. Options include Bahamian Lobster Skewers with spicy pineapple salsa, Pan Seared New England Scallops with bacon leek risotto and lemon herb butter, Crispy Salt & Pepper Calamari with sriracha citrus aioli, and a Korean BBQ Pulled Pork Egg Roll with Asian slaw and spicy sweet dipping sauce.
For Entrees, guests can venture into the seafood selections, or stick to the farm-based entrees. Highlights include the Ring of Fire, a dish of pan-seared scallops and shrimp with shiitake crab fried rice, coconut milk, spinach, sriracha, and basil; Pistachio and Ginger-Crusted Grouper with parmesan risotto, baby beans, and blue crab basil sauce; a Grilled 8oz Filet Mignon with whipped potatoes, bacon, onions, wilted spinach, and a mushroom port demi glace; and the Baby Lamb Chops with a Dijon rosemary crust, grilled asparagus, whipped potatoes , and a mint demi glace.
Austin’s has several options for seating, including a white-tablecloth and black napkin main dining room, as well as The Fish Bowl (private, seats up to 14, ocean view), and The Spirit Room (private, seats 10 – 100). They’re also open for lunch with a menu that includes smaller portions of several of the dinner items, sandwiches, and a great burger.
