Located on Georgetown’s scenic Front Street, this popular restaurant has been serving tasty Lowcountry cuisine for over 30 years. As they maintain a casual dining-room atmosphere, reservations are not accepted and guests are served on a first-come first-served based. So whether you’re traveling their by foot, car, or boat (temporary dockage is available in an adjacent marina), get your name on the list, relax, and prepare to have a great meal.

In addition to seasonal Soft Shell Crabs, the Appetizer list includes highlights like Spicy Crawfish Dip, McClellanville Crab Balls with remoulade, Oysters Rock(efeller), Seared Rare Tuna with ginger-soy-lime sauce and wasabi, Black-Eyed Pea Cakes with red onion aioli, and House-made Potato Chips with bleu cheese crumbles.

Leafy green options include a Gorgonzola, Apple, and Bacon Salad with an herbed vinaigrette, Baby Greens with Pistachio Crusted Goat Cheese and a fruit garnish, and the River Room Entrée Salad with romaine and baby greens, hard-boiled eggs, grated Parmesan, vegetables, and a vinaigrette.

Fresh Fish Specialties are available as long as the local fishermen are having success on the sea, and each can be prepared a few different ways. For example, Carolina Grouper can be chargrilled and served with tomato-basil lime butter, blackened with basil cream sauce, herb-crusted with citrus mojo, or stuffed with crab and topped with Hollandaise.

Yellowfin Tuna is available chargrilled with lime-ginger-soy sauce & wasabi, or blackened with basil cream sauce. And Atlantic Salmon can be chargrilled and topped with dill hollandaise or baked and topped with a parmesan-horseradish soufflé.

Other standout Entrees include Shrimp & Grits with smoked sausage and Tasso ham, Joe’s Stuffed Chicken with ham, cream cheese, and smoked mozzarella, a Fried Seafood Platter with shrimp, oysters, scallops, deviled crab, and fish, Ribeye Oscar with Alaskan snow crab and hollandaise, and a Chargrilled Porterhouse Pork Chop with apple raisin chutney.

The dining room extends well out into the Sampit River, providing panoramic tranquil views for diners. The space is also out-fitted with antique nautical art and a huge reef aquarium that attracts the attention of children and adults alike.
