The Myrtle Beach Pelicans are a minor league baseball team, and they are Class-A Advanced Affiliate of the Chicago Cubs. As the only professional sports team in the area, the Myrtle Beach Pelicans strive to entertain locals and visitors to Myrtle Beach, not only by playing against other Carolina Leage teams, but also by hosting several fun events and special games. As part of the Carolina League, the Pelicans compete against Winston-Salem Dash (White Sox), Wilmington Blue Rocks (Royals), Salem Red Sox (Red Sox), Carolina Mudcats (Braves), Potomac Nationals (Nationals), Lynchburg Hillcats (Indians), and the Frederick Keys (Orioles).
