Restaurant Week South Carolina

January 11-21, 2018

Restaurant Week South Carolina will take place from January 11-21, 2018. Many Grand Strand restaurants are participating in this event, and will be offering discounts and specials throughout the week. Participating restaurants include 21 Main at North Beach, Angelo’s Steak and Pasta, Aspen Grille, Brentwood Restaurant and Wine Bistro, Cafe Amalfi, Croissants Bistro & Bakery, Ducatis Pizzeria, Fuddruckers, Hook and Barrel, Parson’s Table, Ruth’s Chris, The Wicked Tuna, Vintage Twelve, and WaterScapes Restaurant at the Marina Inn.

Silent Cities - Cemetery Tours

January 6-March 2, 2018

Hop aboard the Trekker at Brookgreen Gardens for an exclusive look at the cemeteries along the back roads. Tickets are $15 for the two-hour excursion. Tours are held at 12:00 and 2:30 p.m. Sundays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.

Children's Discovery Room

January 6-March 3, 2018

The Children’s Discover Room at Brookgreen Gardens is the perfect place for kids ages 4-12 to learn about nature, history, and more. Kids will love the Dinosaur Dissection Lab, crafts, activities, and tons of fun. The discover room is open on Saturdays and Sundays from 12-4:30 p.,. o the Wall Lowcountry Center.

The Oaks Plantation History and Nature Excursion

January 9 - February 28, 2018

From January 8- February 28, 2018, guests at Brookgreen Gardens can take a special tour on the back roads with an interpreter to hear about the history of the Alston family who used to live on the land. The tour will include a visit to the plantation house, the Alston family cemetery, the slave village, and more. Tickets are $8 for adults and $4 for children in addition to regular park admission. The tour will take place on Mondays & Wednesdays at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.

New Education Exhibit

January 15 - March 18, 2018

“Come Ya, Bin Ya.” is a new exhibit at Brookgreen Gardens featuring art by Gullah, African Diaspora Artists, Lowcountry artists, and more. The exhibit is open daily from 12-4:30 p.m. in the Learning Lab I of the Wall Lowcountry Center from January 15 until March 18, 2018.

Zookeeper for a Day

January 17, 2018

Brookgreen Garden visitors age 12 and older are eligible to participate in a special program called Zookeeper for a Day. This program gives guests a firsthand look at working in a zoo, and allows guests to help zookeepers with their daily routines including cleaning, feeding, animal care, and more. Registration is $150, and is limited to one person per day.

4th Annual GCYP Oyster Roast

January 17, 2018

The Georgetown County Young Professionals are hosting their annual Oyster Roast and Membership Drive again this year. On January 17, guests at this event can enjoy a night of networking, drinks, and delicious food. Oysters will be provided by Seven Seas Seafood, but there will also be other food and beverage choices available. This event will be held at Pawleys Island Tavern from from 6-8 p.m.

Taste of the MarshWalk

January 27-28, 2018

Head over to the Murrells Inlet MarshWalk for the 5th Annual Taste of the MarshWalk on January 27 & 28, 2018. Guests will enjoy samplings from each of the seven MarshWalk restaurants, as well as kids activities, live music, and more. Each sampling will cost only $5 or less.
