Silent Cities - Cemetery Tours

January 6-March 2, 2018

Hop aboard the Trekker at Brookgreen Gardens for an exclusive look at the cemeteries along the back roads. Tickets are $15 for the two-hour excursion. Tours are held at 12:00 and 2:30 p.m. Sundays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.

The Oaks Plantation History and Nature Excursion

January 8 - February 28 2018

From January 8-February 28, 2018, guests at Brookgreen Gardens can take a special tour on the back roads with an interpreter to hear about the history of the Alston family who used to live on the land. The tour will include a visit to the plantation house, the Alston family cemetery, the slave village, and more. Tickets are $8 for adults and $4 for children in addition to regular park admission. The tour will take place on Mondays & Wednesdays at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.

Children's Discovery Room

January 6 - March 3, 2017

Bring your little ones to the Children’s Discovery Room at Brookgreen Gardens every weekend this month. They’ll have a chance to explore seven different stations to help them learn about the history of the gardens. The room is open from 12-4:30 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays and is free with garden admission.

Zookeeper for a Day

February 21, 2018

Brookgreen Garden visitors age 12 and older are eligible to participate in a special program called Zookeeper for a Day. This program gives guests a firsthand look at working in a zoo, and allows guests to help zookeepers with their daily routines including cleaning, feeding, animal care, and more. Registration is $150, and is limited to one person per day.
