From January 8-February 28, 2018, guests at Brookgreen Gardens can take a special tour on the back roads with an interpreter to hear about the history of the Alston family who used to live on the land. The tour will include a visit to the plantation house, the Alston family cemetery, the slave village, and more. Tickets are $8 for adults and $4 for children in addition to regular park admission. Bring your little ones to the Children’s Discovery Room at Brookgreen Gardens every weekend this month. They’ll have a chance to explore seven different stations to help them learn about the history of the gardens. Brookgreen Garden visitors age 12 and older are eligible to participate in a special program called Zookeeper for a Day. This program gives guests a firsthand look at working in a zoo, and allows guests to help zookeepers with their daily routines including cleaning, feeding, animal care, and more.
