As the holiday season approaches, several of the area's live entertainment venues are helping locals and visitors get in the spirit with their annual Christmas shows. The November calendar also features two 5K's, the state bluegrass festival, and one of the largest Christmas expos around.

The 25th annual Guy Osborne Memorial run will take place on Saturday, November 10th at 8 a.m. at Pawleys Pavilion Park. No word yet on how many tortoises have registered, but the humiliation of losing to one of them is said to be incredibly haunting, according to a hare who wishes to remain anonymous. Brookgreen Garden visitors age 12 and older are eligible to participate in a special program called Zookeeper for a Day. This program gives guests a firsthand look at working in a zoo, and allows guests to help zookeepers with their daily routines including cleaning, feeding, animal care, and more.
