If you’re looking for a family-friendly bar & grill that is a great place for locals and vacationers in Pawleys Island, then look no further than the Pawleys Island Tavern. Also known as PIT by Pawleys Island natives, this shabby-chic eatery is known for good eats, great music, and awesome times.

While some may describe the food here as pub grub, Pawleys Island Tavern offers much more than that. Resident executive chef Alex Lawson makes it a point to use the freshest local ingredients that are in-season. Chef Lawson also aims to please customers by serving up a variety of dishes that keep locals and visitors coming back time and time again.

Those visiting Pawleys Island Tavern can enjoy lunch or dinner from 11 a.m. until 2 a.m., Tuesday through Sunday throughout the year. Lunch guests can delicious eats from the extensive lunch menu, featuring items such as appetizers, soups, salads, sandwiches, burgers, seafood baskets, and pizza. Lunch Specialties at the PIT include the Crab Cake Plate, Barbecue Plate, and the Pork Chop Plate.

While the lunch menu is chock-full of amazing dishes to choose from, the dinner menu is also something to rave about.  Start your dinner with an appetizer such as the Crawfish Quesadilla (spinach tortilla stuffed with crawfish, white cheddar, and jalapenos) or the Crab Balls (PIT famous crab cake recipe rilled up bite-sized and fried until golden brown & delicious). Or, opt for a light soup or salad before moving onto an entrée. Entrée options include a selection of Chargrilled Burgers & Dogs, such as the Psychoburger (all beef half-pound burger topped with Pimento cheese, chili, sautéed onions, bacon, jalapenos, egg, and hot sauce). Other choices include Sandwiches (Po’boy or Crab Cake Sandwich), Seafood Baskets, Pizza, and Seafood & Steak Entrees like the Shrimp & Grits and the Ribeye Steak.

If you’re 21 or over, you can always sip on one of the many alcoholic drinks that the PIT has to offer. Choose from a long list of beers from all around the world, wines, and specialty cocktails such as the PIT Bull (Stoli Vani vodka, Kahlua and Coke), or the Island Breeze (Malibu rum with cranberry and pineapple juices).

In addition to their food and great bar, the Pawleys Island Tavern is known as one of the best spots in town to catch live music. PIT hosts family-friendly bands from the area, as well as from out of town, every Thursday-Sunday.
