Palmetto Cheese Monster

By Marissa Polascak ˙ October 14, 2015

What you will need:

12 oz Palmetto Cheese (original, jalapeno, or bacon)

1 cup sharp grated cheddar cheese

8 oz cream cheese

3/4 cup chopped dried cranberries (optional)

1/2 cup chopped pecans

1/2 red pepper

1 cucumber

1 pkg alfalfa sprouts or shredded lettuce

1 pkg decorative monster eyes

After gathering all of your materials, grab a mixing bowl and combine Palmetto Cheese, grated cheddar cheese, and cream cheese. Mix ingredients until well-blended (you can add 1/2 cup of dried cranberries if you’d like), and form into a ball. Take another dish and combine the rest of the dried cranberries and the 1/2 cup of chopped pecans. Roll the ball into this mixture until all sides are covered. Transfer this to a serving plate.

Take your cucumber and cut it in half. Then, cut that half in half and you have monster feet! For your monster’s mouth, cut a red pepper in half, remove all seeds, and cut out whatever shape you would like for the mouth. Then, stick the decorative eyes in so your monster can see. Finally, take the alfalfa sprouts or shredded lettuce and give your monster some funny hair.

There is no wrong way to making your monster. Have fun, be creative, and celebrate October with this festive treat. Everyone at your party will love it! This tasty creation goes well with pretzels, tortilla chips, crackers, and more!
