Holiday 2016 Events in Pawleys Island

It’s that time of the year! The holidays are here and, in Pawleys Island, everyone is taking notice. With all of the festive cheer in the air, there are tons of fun activities going on in the area to celebrate.

Here is a list of holiday events going on in Pawleys Island:

Multiple Dates

Nights of a Thousand Candles
Nights of a Thousand Candles

On special dates throughout December, Brookgreen Gardens hosts their most anticipated event of the year; Nights of a Thousand Candles. This year’s event will take place December 1-3, 8-10, & 15-18, 2016 from 3-10 p.m. Guests at Nights of a Thousand Candles will enjoy amazing displays of sparkling lights,an 80-ft-tall fir tree decorated with 70,000 bulbs, live entertainment, food, and much more. Tickets are $18 for adults and $10 for children ages 4-12. Member tickets are $14 for adults and $8 for children ages 4-12.

Due to the popularity of the event, Brookgreen Gardens is asking that visitors purchase their tickets ahead of time, as only a limited number of tickets will be for sale at the gardens each night. To purchase tickets, visit the Brookgreen Gardens website.

A Merry Marshwalk Christmas
A Merry Marshwalk Christmas

On Saturday, December 3 & Saturday, December 10, head on over to the Murrells Inlet MarshWalk for A Merry MarshWalk Christmas! Guests at this event will enjoy a fun shopping experience from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day, featuring vendors, artists, and more. Those who bring a non-perishable food item for “Backpack Buddies” will be able to take a photo with Santa while he’s in town. Plus, enjoy amazing dining at any of the MarshWalk group restaurants including The Wicked Tuna, The Claw House, Dead Dog Saloon, Creek Ratz, Captain Dave’s Dockside, Drunken Jack’s, Wahoo’s Fish House, and Bovine’s.

Join the Swamp Fox Players for a night of Christmas songs and hymns at the Strand Theater in Downtown Georgetown. This event will take place on December 1-3, and 8-10 at 8 p.m., as well as December 4 and 11 at 2:30 p.m, Tickets are $18 for adults, and $10 for ages 12 and under.

Santa Paws

Each Saturday from now until December 17, All 4 Paws shelter will be hosting pet photos with Santa. Photos start at $12 and all proceeds benefit the shelter.

Kaminski House by Candlelight Tour
Kaminski House by Candlelight Tour

Take a tour of the historic Kaminski House on December 15 or 17 from 5-6:30 p.m. The tour will feature beautiful decorations by local designers. Admission is $15.

Limeablue in Pawleys Island is hosting the Spirit of the Holidays Festival on December 1st from 4-7 p.m. This event will include special events and sales that the whole family can enjoy. Train rides will be available, as well as wine and cheese, and a special 15% discount.

On Thursday, December 1st, join the Pawleys Island General Store for a Christmas Open House. This event will feature sales from great local artists as well as discounts on jewelry, clothing, housewares, and much more. Guests can enjoy complimentary food and drinks, as well as a drawing for a membership for a weekly CSA Produce Box and an Heirloom Pork Sampler package.

Gather your family and head on out to Morse Park in Murrells Inlet for a free event full of fun and holiday cheer! On Friday, December 2nd from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., families will enjoy Christmas music, interactions with Mr. and Mrs. Claus, crafts, hot chocolate, and more. Plus, be sure to stay for the beautiful Christmas tree lighting at 6 p.m. Dogs are welcome on a leash.

On Saturday, December 3, the Georgetown Business Association will be presenting the Georgetown Christmas Parade. This all-ages event will feature tons of activities for the whole family to enjoy, including Breakfast with Santa at 9 & 10 a.m., the City Parade at 11 a.m., dining, shopping, tour, Kringle Krawl begins at 4 p.m., the Lighted Boat Parade at 6 p,m., the Tree Lighting Ceremony at 7 p.m. , and the Kringle Krawl ends at 11 p.m.

The Georgetown Annual Lighted Boat Parade begins at 5 p.m. on December 3, 2016 in Downtown Georgetown.

Second Annual Kringle Krawl
Second Annual Kringle Krawl

Grab your buddies and join the Kringle Krawl on December 3, 2016. Dress up in your favorite Christmas attire and make your way through Georgetown Business Association restaurants in Downtown Georgetown. Participants will enjoy cocktails and fresh local cuisine while enjoying the sights and sounds of Georgetown. Registration is only $5 and the Krawl will take place from 4 p.m. until 11 p.m. Participating restaurants include Chacon’s, Wildfish Grill, Townhouse, River Room, Castaway’s, Buzz’s Roost, DiAngerlo’s, and The Big Tuna. This event is only for adults 21 and older.

Atalaya Holiday Celebration

Take a tour of the Atalaya Castle, specially decorated for the holidays at Huntington Beach State Park. Tours will take place on December 3rd from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. and will also include crafts, live entertainment, and a bake sale. The cost for the event is $3 in addition to park admission.

The Benefit for Friends of the Georgetown Library will be hosting the Yuletide Tour of Homes on Saturday, December 10th from 1:30-5:30 p.m. The tour will include eight colonial and contemporary homes, each decorated beautifully for the season. Refreshments will be included at the historic Parker-Stewart House. Tickets for the tour are $25.

Looking for something fun to do with your friends this holiday season? Check out the 2nd Annual MarshWalk Santa Crawl on Saturday, December 17, 2016! This event will begin at 5 p.m. and will include a crawl of eight MarshWalk restaurants and bars including Bovine’s, Drunken Jack’s, Captain Dave’s Dockside, Wahoo’s Fish House, Creek Ratz, Dead Dog Saloon, The Claw House, and The Wicked Tuna. Participants are encouraged to dress up in their best Christmas-themed outfits, as one lucky guest will win $1000 in cash for their holiday best. Also, the first 25 guests at each restaurant will receive a free beaded shot glass necklace.

Celebrate the New Year with the Murrells Inlet MarshWalk! Each of the eight MarshWalk restaurants will be having their very own drink and dinner specials throughout the night, as well as live music, tons of fun, and fireworks at midnight.
