Pawleys Island, S.C., is located on the Waccamaw Neck, a peninsula that runs between the Atlantic Ocean and the Waccamaw River. The actual town is very small — about three miles wide with a population of just a couple hundred people — but a large, unincorporated portion of the mainland shares the Pawleys Island area name. Surrounding communities such as Surfside Beach, Garden City, Murrells Inlet and Myrtle Beach to the north and Georgetown to the south, also offer plenty of opportunities for things to do. Here's a look at some of the most popular attractions in Pawleys Island, plotted on a map of the area.
